History

We have been around since 1981 when the Mooirivier Group was founded by Eddis Schoch, who also founded Mooirivier Brokers in the same year. His strategic thinking and bold decision-making have propelled the company to new heights, making it a force to be reckoned with in the market.

To keep up with his dream and vision, Flagship Financial Services (FFS) Underwriting Management Agency (UMA)—a family-owned business with over 40 years of experience in the non-life insurance industry—was born.

UMAs usually exclusively deal with independent intermediaries and are not allowed to deal with the public directly, but the Flagship Financial Services UMA has founded its own internal legal department which handles our clients’ and our brokers’ claims faster, more efficiently, and with the capability to process larger claims than other companies as we form part of the UMA.

Our niche skills and superior service are well-known in the industry. Our brokers rely on our knowledge and expertise as a safety net for their clients and policyholders, making it one of our strategic benefits. Our clients know we provide expert, professional, fast, and friendly assistance with their claims.

Christelle holds a BCom Law as well as an LLB degree from the North-West University, Potchefstroom Campus. She is an admitted attorney with more than 20 years’ experience in the corporate field. Law, Commercial Forensic Investigations, and client satisfaction are her passion.

Christelle is supported by seven claims handlers who are experts in processing and paying our legitimate claims and handling all insurance queries from our brokers and our clients.
